ABOUT ABOUT

Wild Pollinators in the City: The magic of our butterflies and bees, and how you can support them---even in small spaces

Join Kass from the Xerces Society to learn about the hundreds of gentle pollinating bees and butterflies that live in Pennsylvania, including right here in the city!

We depend on these bees for our fruits, vegetables, and many other nutritious foods, and we can help them thrive by planting native wildflowers to make sure they have enough food.  Because insects are so small, your community garden, balcony or patio garden, street trees, and local park can all make a huge difference in protecting the pollinators on whom we depend.

We will walk around the grounds at Stenton, observe some beautiful pollinators in action, learn more about where they nest, and how YOU can make a difference. All attendees will receive seedlings to take home to start their own mini pollinator garden. All ages welcome!
